Lamar Valley Bighorn

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

A lone bighorn ram enjoys a meal of winter grass on the slopes near Soda Butte Creek. Only a few small bands of Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep call Yellowstone home. These groups live among the steep terrain in the upper Yellowstone River drainage, including habitat that extends more than 20 miles north of the park.
